If the programming software and the IBHsoftec S7-SoftPLC version >3.x are used on different PCs in a wide area network, the IBHNet driver only needs to be installed on the PC with the programming software. If the IBH Link communication adaptor is used, it is also sufficient to install the driver on the PU.

To be sure that the network connection is alive, please make sure that the remote PLC can be reached via the ethernet network. The easiest way do this, is to send a PING <IP-Address> from the DOS-Box.

Currently the S7-SoftPLC and the S7-CX PLCs use the TCP port 1099. If your PLC sits behind a firewall, you need to open the appropriate ports for a communication in your firewall-software. Consult your administrator or the documentation of your firewall on how to permit access via certain ports. The IBH Link S7 also uses the port 1099.
