|Before a firmware update may be accomplished, the machines power must be removed from the controlled equipment! The PROFIBUS must also be physically disconnected from the board! No liability can be taken in case of damage or injury, that may occur in case of uncontrolled behaviour during the firmware update!

1. Close all programs
* Close all programs that access the ''S7-PCI315'' PLC. Especially the service ''S7NetPLCCommSvc'' must not be active during firmware download. The service needs to be stopped via "Settings - Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Services" before starting the firmare download.

2. Open cifX Test Program in System Control
* Open the system control "Start" > "System control".
* Open the program "cifX Test" with a doubleclick on "cifX Test" symbol.
The cifX Test program will be started.

3. Open device
* To open a connection to the device, click the menu entry "Device" > "Open".
* Choose Channel#0 of ''S7-PCI315'' device and accept with "OK".

4. Delete old Firmware
* Choose from menu "Device" > "File Explorer".
* Select the file "S7PLC.NXF".
* Click "Delete File".

5. Start firmware download
* Choose from menu "Device" > "Download".
* Click "Search" and search for the new firmware.
* Confirm the selection and click "Download".

6. Reset ''S7-PCI315''
* Choose from menu "Device" > "Reset".
* Select "System Reset".
* Confirm the reset by clicking "Reset".
The Device is being restarted.

7. Restart previously closed programs
* All programs that access the ''S7-PCI315'' PLC can now be restarted. Especially the service ''S7NetPLCCommSvc'' must now be restarted via "Settings - Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Services".
