The IBH Link UA can be integrated into a Nagios-compatible monitoring system through NRPE (Nagios Remote Plugin Executor). This allows device status and approved check values to be queried centrally.<br />

== Configuration ==<br />
<br />
The Nagios page of the web interface provides the following functions:<br />
<br />
* display the current NRPE service status<br />
* start the NRPE service automatically with the device<br />
* configure the TCP port; the default is <code>5666</code><br />
* configure the permitted queries or checks<br />
* apply the settings<br />
* start or stop the service<br />
* refresh the status display<br />
<br />
Applying changed settings restarts the NRPE service with the new configuration.<br />

# Configure the required port and permitted queries.<br />
# Enable automatic startup if monitoring is to be used permanently.<br />
# Apply the settings and refresh the service status.<br />
# Create a host for the IBH Link UA in the Nagios system.<br />
# Query the approved checks using <code>check_nrpe</code>.<br />
# Test the return value and status text manually before adding the check to regular monitoring.<br />

== Network and security ==<br />
<br />
* Make the NRPE port reachable only from the intended monitoring network.<br />
* Restrict access through the firewall to the required Nagios systems.<br />
* Permit only the queries that are actually required.<br />
* Do not use passwords or other secrets as query parameters.<br />

== Troubleshooting ==<br />
<br />
* Check network access to the IBH Link UA and the configured TCP port.<br />
* Verify that the NRPE service is running and enabled for device startup.<br />
* Check firewall rules on the IBH Link UA and in the network.<br />
* Make sure that the query name used by Nagios exactly matches an approved query.<br />
* After configuration changes, apply the settings again and refresh the status.<br />
